WADER is a sonar range prediction and Global ocean information system which uses global environmental data, user-supplied acoustic parameters & dedicated underwater acoustic models to produce propagation loss (proploss) and probability of detection data. Designed for operational users of all abilities, the proploss data is generated graphically in real time which can then be exported in a variety of formats for further processing.
Applications include: research, training, operational sonar range prediction, ASW, pre- & post-mission analysis.
WADER has Global functionality and can provide data for any sonar in any ocean providing the correct parameters are entered by the user.
The HODGSON And RAM Composite Acoustic Model – HARCAM – is a variation of WADER specifically designed for research purposes and used for both underwater acoustics research and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
HARCAM allows users to produce accurate propagation loss, reverberation loss and arrivals data over a continuous frequency spectrum from 10Hz (depending on water depth) to over 500kHz. Unlike WADER, it exposes users to the finer details of underwater acoustics.
The primary output format is ASCII Text. Basic graphical output is also available for propagation loss data, propagation loss curves and probability of detection diagrams (PODgrams).
AUP – Annual Upgrade Plan
All WADER and HARCAM purchases include 6 months of support and upgrades, free of charge. This support can be extended by purchasing an Annual Upgrade Plan (AUP).
An AUP is purchased for each licence and provides the user with support and upgrades throughout the year as and when the software develops.
